Twitch agreed, and the angel became the focus of the design. From there, fleshing out of the base accompanied discussions about internally lighting the trophy as it "burst at the pixels", and I developed different wing styles and positions for review. Style C and position B proved to be the winners.
With Twitch's brand color being a vibrant purple, the final design was created as both a silver-with-purple-light and purple-with-white-light for the final client decision. They went with the latter, and 3D modeling could begin!
The final casting of trophy with full paint and LED internal wiring, ready to be awarded at TwitchCon! (Volpin Props hand-crafted the final trophy live on Twitch every Wednesday for over a month!)
In addition to the trophy, Twitch also requested a series of medals to be awarded to their various subcategories such as Needlework, Armor, and Special Effects. These TwitchCon Medals were designed and created for winners in each category, based off of initial illustrations provided by Twitch. These initial blue-sky designs laid the groundwork for later designs.
Second, hypersimplified passes at the medals as requested with the goal of quick laser-cutting in mind rather than casting.
